PUBLIC NOTICE OF A PRETREATMENT UPDES PERMIT
PURPOSE OF PUBLIC NOTICE
THE PURPOSE OF THIS PUBLIC NOTICE IS TO DECLARE THE INTENTION OF THE STATE OF UTAH TO ISSUE A UTAH POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION SYSTEM (UPDES) PERMIT UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE UTAH WATER POLLUTION CONTROL ACT, SECTION 19-5-104(9) AND 107(2), UTAH CODE ANNOTATED 1953, AS AMENDED. SAID 'PERMIT' REFERS TO THE UPDES PERMIT AND THE STATEMENT OF BASIS.

BACKGROUND
SKF Salt Lake City manufactures seals made from various materials including rubber and plastic. SKF has been classified as a significant industrial user due the determination that the facility is covered by the categorical standard based on 40 CFR ยง428.56.
The process wastewater discharge is from the contact water wet deck with an estimated discharge to the POTW of 480 gallons per day (gpd). The discharge will be into a drain in the north janitorial closet following the filtration unit. The location of Outfall 001 is in the north janitorial closet.
PUBLIC COMMENTS
Public comments are invited any time prior to the deadline of the close of business on September 1, 2020. A public hearing can be requested although must be filed during the comment period which will end on September 1, 2020. After considering public comments the director may execute the permit issuance, revise it or abandon it. The director will not publish a notice of decision provided the permit will be signed without any changes and no comments are received during the public comment period.
