V. MEMBERS REPORTS.
Mayor Johnson. Mayor Johnson reported Brian Brill's family and friends are going to have a memorial for him on 12 June 2020, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. They have requested permission from the town to block Center Street from Main Street to 1st North for this celebration. They will be having music and food. All proceeds will be going to his family. In closing they will light candles to commemorate his passing. The council agreed to give permission for the temporary road closure.
Mayor Johnson reported that water is leaking into the town park pavilion on the south side. Some temporary measures were discussed to help the problem for now. A lot of work needs to be done on the building. This major project will be considered for the budget next year.
The renovations for the town hall have been completed. When the office equipment is all installed at the town hall the council will need to hire another person to split the duties between a recorder and treasurer that are now all being done by the town clerk. Connie will stay on as one of the employees. Connie will comprise a list of the different duties for each person. It will then be determined the approximate hours and wages to be offered to a new employee. There was some discussion as to whether the job would be an hourly wage or a salary. The town clerk position has been on salary, it is a part time job, as the new positions will be.
There was some discussion about the Memorial/Heritage Monument. It is coming along, but there are some concerns. Chairperson, Steve Albrecht, is planning the dedication program. It involves more than the council would have preferred, but Mr. Albrecht assured the council it would not be over 45 minutes. Bryan suggested someone talk with Mark Wood, from UDOT, about the Monument to make sure there are not any 'distractions' for passing motorists that need to be addressed.
Scott. Scott reported the springs on the mountain are producing about 45
gallons a minute. The tank is down about a two feet. Brinkerhoff Spring has pumped over 300,000 gallons again the last month. Scott had the inmates here to help him in May. They helped prepare the cemetery for Memorial Day, they also helped work on the Memorial/Heritage Monument. Scott reported the irrigation system is in pretty good shape. He did have a break behind the Town Hall, but he is fixing that. He has spent considerable hours on the new Monument. He will be digging a grave for a Blackwood on the 11th.
