City of Aurora City Council Work Session May 20, 2020 Page 1 CITY OF AURORA CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION MAY 20, 2020 FINAL The Aurora City Council determined to hold a work session for their City Council meeting for the purpose of deciding the direction Aurora City should go for the 4th of July Celebration. PRESENT: Mayor: Daven Quarnberg Council Member: Kent Mickelsen Council Member: Jim Harrison Council Member: Nancy Kennedy Council Member: Kelly Mason Maintenance Supervisor: Dan Rasmussen Maintenance Assistant: Jordon Bosh STAFF PRESENT: Clint Johnson, City Recorder EXCUSED: Council Member: Andy Rasmussen VISITORS: Brett Quarnberg, Michelle Bennett and Weston Mason 1- 4TH OF JULY DISCUSSION- Mayor Quarnberg asked each member of the City Council expressed their opinion on moving forward with the annual 4th of July celebration in Aurora. After much discussion, the Council Members stated that they felt like it would be too difficult to keep everything sanitized and to enforce social distancing standards. The Council determined to cancel all of the celebrations except for the fireworks. The fireworks will be held on July 3rd at 10:00 pm. at the city park.
