Notice is given that the Stockton Town Council will hold a regular meeting as identified below in the Town Council Chambers at the Stockton Town Hall 18 N. Johnson Street, Stockton, Utah. 6. Department Reports
a. Stockton Police Department-Chief Romney
Last month we had 49 traffic stops, 61 calls, 15 call outs and 01 County assist.
Use of force- 1. Woman having a psychiatric break, needed to be restrained until medical arrived. 2. Intoxicated male would not comply, and force was used to subdue him. 3. During a domestic violence incident a male refused to comply, and force was used to take him into custody. 3. Woman having a psychiatric break, needed to be restrained until medical arrived.
Major crimes- 1. Three psychiatric 2. Two domestic violence 3. One felony fraud (6 counts) 4. One felony theft (10,000 value) 5. One child abuse 6. Two sex offenses 7. Three drug offenses (meth and heroin) 8. Six traffic/ warrants.
Ordinances- 1. We are starting to keep an eye on the weed issues, the length and how high they get. 2. We are going the be getting with the Fire Department and doing fire checks around Town addressing possible dangerous areas. These will be conversations at first hoping to gain compliance.
Community oriented policing- 1. Police Department has been assisting with passing out school lunches. We have been providing traffic control on Connor Ave and handing out Police stickers. 2. Nation Police Week, please take a moment to remember those who gave their lives. Friday flags will be at half-staff at the direction of the president.
b. Stockton Fire Department-Chief Huffman/Assistant Chief Thatcher
Last month we had a total of 17 calls, 4 fires, 7 medical and 6 rescues.
Easter weekend there was a fly over the south end of the Valley 156 camps around the lake at Vernon Reservoir. It was estimated that there were 5,000 camps in five mile area. There have been a lot of ATV accidents out in five mile.
The truck that needed a new pump is fixed and is now in service. It has been a very dry spring. There is a fire in Midway that has burned 683 acres and is 70% contained. The Fire Department and the Police Department will be going around Town talking with residents about fire checks and addressing the dangerous areas.
c. Recreation (Parks)
We have officially transitioned from orange to yellow status. Rocky Mountain School of Baseball asked Mayor Karjola if they could schedule games for Saturday May 16 from 8am to 6pm. Mayor Karjola will be working on the ball field on Friday to get it ready for the weekend.
d. Roads and Grounds
David Wright, Rod Wheeler and Steve Eyre have been working on the cleaning up the crack seal machine. They are making a plan to work on crack sealing.
