La Verkin City Council Meeting Agenda Wednesday, May 6, 2020, 6:00 p.m. Council Chambers, 111 S. Main, La Verkin, Utah FACE MASKS REQUIRED A. Meeting Called to Order: Invocation by Invitation; Pledge of Allegiance B. Consent Agenda: (Items on the consent agenda may not require discussion. These items will be a single motion unless removed at the request of the Mayor or City Council.) 1. Declarations of conflict of interest 2. Agenda 3. Minutes: April 15, 2020 regular meeting 4. Review Checks and Invoices: $170,490.59 C. Committee Reports: Reports will be emailed D. Citizen Comment & Request for Future Agenda Items: No action may be taken on a matter raised under this agenda item. This item is reserved for the citizens of La Verkin who have items not listed on this agenda. There is a time limit of 20 minutes with each individual taking no more than 3 minutes. E. Business: 1. Discussion and possible action to approve Resolution R-2020-08; a resolution restricting the use of fireworks. 2. Discussion and possible action to approve Proclamation 2020-02; a proclamation encouraging fire restrictions. 3. Discussion of the 2020 La Verkin City Scholarship applications. F. Mayor & Council Reports: Mayor Hirschi: Gubler: Public Safety, Recreation/City Festivals Wilson: Ash Creek Sewer District, Public Works, Water, La Verkin Hot Springs Wise: Planning Commission/Zoning, Beautification/Trails Committee, Economic Development/Tourism Justice: Washington County Solid Waste, Homeland Security/CERT, Confluence Park Hardy: Southwest Mosquito Abatement, Historical Preservation G. Closed Session: 1. Discussion and possible action or determination regarding the character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of an individual. H. Reconvene from Closed Session: 1. Possible action on subject matter from Closed Session. I.
