Emergency Kits-The following individuals signed up to help put our kits together on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Julissa Arvizu, Yasmin Castellanos, Farhio Amin, Lidia Murillo, Wayne Jensen, Maria Jensen, Edith Guzman, Ebla Ibrahim, Rene Valenzuela, Cathy Christensen, Brandy Farnsworth, Annabelle Valencia, Silvia Juarez, Jasmin Nava, Rhonda Wall, Kakau Manh. Thank you for your wiliness to help! 4. Consumable foods for the kits are as follows: - Fruit Snacks, 24 packs, 27 boxes $6.98 per box = $188.46 - Tootsie Pops 100 count- 13 boxes, $7.67 per box = $99.71 (2 per child) - Kellogs Rice Krispie Treats 40 bar count- $8.37 per box = $207.48 - Ritz Cheez Crackers 30 count-22 boxes at $7.58 per box = $166.76 - Hand Sanitizer 35 8 oz bottles at $1.00 each=$35.00 - Total---------------------------------------------------------------------$697.41 5. PTA Budget Report - Annabelle Valencia, PTA Treasure 6. One Uniform Ballot was mailed out to each of our Backman families on February 15, 2011. The ballot is due back to the school by February 28, 2011 as per SCC recommendation and PTA membership that voted on it at the January 20, 2011 PTA/SCC general meeting. 7. Change in 2012 school year calendar proposal. Discussion/vote 8. Cookie Dough Fundraiser recommended to kick off on April 7th with an assembly and will end on week of April 25th when students return from spring break. We need to have at least $150-$200.00 to support incentive prizes. The fundraiser will raise funds to support a marquee for our school. We have been requesting bids from local business to give us an estimate. The cost can range from $10, 000 to $30,000.00 9. PTA By Laws have been updated and will be submitted to the UTA PTA Association once approved by our local Backman PTA. 10. PTA/SCC Position Vacancy’s for the next 2 years are PTA Secretary and 4 SCC positions. We will have elections at the next PTA/SCC meeting scheduled on March 17, 2011. If you are interested in any of these positions, please let a member of the PTA/SCC Board know so that you can be nominated at the next election. 11. Upcoming Calendar of Events - February 21, 2011, Non Student Day for President’s Day-No School - February 22, 2011, Non Student day for Teacher Comp Day - February 24, Earth Quake Drill - February 28, 2011, UALPA Testing and District Writing Test for 5th grade begins - February 28, 2011 K-3 Writing Tests Due - March 7, 2011-Non Student Day-Professional Development Day –No School - March 16, Report Cards go home - March 17, 2011-Next PTA/SCC Meeting and Elections at 5:30 p.m. - March 17, 2011-KUED Night at 6:30 p.m. 12. Non-Agenda Items KUED Meeting on: “ Coping with Feelings” 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
