- South Jordan Historic Preservation Committee Agenda The Gale Center of History 10300 South Beckstead Lane South Jordan, Utah 84095 Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 5:30 p.m. at the Gale Center 5:30 p.m. Regular Meeting 1. Welcome: Bruce Newbold -Chair 2. Invocation 3. Approval of October and November 2019 meeting minutes 4. Committee appreciation dinner location 5. Reports and updates a. Historical Committee projects review i. Historic map project approval and decision of scope 1. List of locations to appear on the map 2. Assign committee members to write a brief history of a location ii. Possibility of installing a third plaque near the bus crash accident plaque. New plaque to include: historic dugouts, Beckstead ditch, and 1st school and church in South Jordan. 1. The CLG grant as a potential funding source? iii. Kyle Bowen at the cemetery informed Bruce about Wreaths across America program iv. Bowen also spoke with Bruce about a location at the cemetery to grieve for stillborn children. 6. Other business i. Committee Discussion The South Jordan Historic Preservation Committee schedules regular meetings on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Gale Center of History & Culture (10300 S. Beckstead Lane, South Jordan, UT 84095).
