NOVEMBER 18, 2019
FINAL
Work Session- The Aurora City Council met with Jeff Albrecht from Savage/Albrecht Engineering along with Lee Huntsman and Charlie Coates to discuss a well site close to Aurora City where a test well and perhaps a new culinary well could be located. Mr. Albrecht informed Mr. Huntsman and Mr. Coates about drilling a test well, the easements that would be required, the restrictions of drilling near canals and other well sites, maintenance, topography, protection zones, buildings needed, pipeline distance, etc. Mr. Coates signed the agreement paper which offered $10,000.00 for a one acre parcel. Mr. Huntsman requested a site visit with the engineer and representatives of Aurora City in order to address concerns and picture the project. Aurora City and Mr. Albrecht will schedule a time when they can get together to look over the site area. The environmental impact study will be completed during the winter months and should take about four to five months once a site has been selected.

2- WELL PROJECT-
Jeff Albrecht explained to the public the findings of the work session. Mr. Albrecht explained that USDA would likely require the increase of the base culinary water from $37.80 to around $45.00/month. Mr. Albrecht also discussed a few options with the base water rate, the possibility of reducing the base 15,000 gallons to somewhere around 8,000 to generate more culinary water income. Mr. Albrecht also advised the city that with their current loan payments it is better for Aurora City to seek funding now rather than wait. Grant money is available now but once the city is further out of debt, the debt ratio would require more loan than grant.
3- OPEN SESSION-

Kelby's project was to install the capability to post flags on the West side of Main Street to match those flags posted on the East side.
