Staff estimated $3500 in revenue and $5000 in expenses from the event. Mr. Hodson noted that even if the event does not completely pay for itself that is a tremendous service to our residents and to celebrate the birth of our country. Mayor Van Leeuwen agreed and thanked everyone for their hard work. He suggested more onions next year, also more hamburgers.
The council noted that we need to make sure our celebration does not turn into a commercialized event like others have become. We have a lot of people who come to our celebration from other communities because they like our small town feel and the simplicity. Mr. Illum noted that as the parade grows that additional safety precaution may be needed. Staff suggested a new banner with the new City logo.

Mr. Hodson said that Bob Perry's field by Mill Creek is underwater due to beaver dams. Mr. Meyerhoffer feels that trapping work better than just removing the dams which are rebuilt within a few days.
Mr. Smout said the re-paving on 2150 at W Pioneer Rd was done well. However, residents are building berms on the side of the road, which prevents water from draining off the road. Mr. Illum said he noticed a sinkhole in the right hand turn lane on the highway near Pioneer Road.
