Pleasant Grove Historic Preservation Commission Agenda Meeting Place: City Hall Basement Conference Room Meeting Date and Time: September 19, 2019, 7 PM Business Excused: Linda Walker Review and/or approve minutes: Motion by: Agenda Items 1. Hear reports from subcommittees: Preservation - Present findings from Reaveley Engineers. - What work can we do now as volunteers (strip woodwork, etc.)? - Talk about the postcard project and accompanying SHPO training. Community Outreach Discuss September downtown tour (Monday, September 23 at 6 PM). - Set up a table in Downtown Park similar to our Heritage Festival table. - We need Commission members to stand on sidewalk to answer questions about buildings or to move tour along. (5 stations) - Lanyards or nametags for Commission members on sidewalk. - Print posters for three interior tours. (Laurel) Digitization & Archives Wait until Linda is healthy enough to meet with us to explain what was done previously on the archives. History & Publications Many people at the Heritage Festival booth asked about a re-print of volume 2 of the history books. We need to make this a priority. 2. Welcome Linda Walker to Commission. (Not attending due to a back injury.) 3. Download results of our Heritage Festival booth. - Table had items for sale: blue books, walking tour books, downtown books, and bricks. Two posters: downtown tour and Historic Home Tour Series with FB address. Had historic downtown pictures (which was a draw, could do more). - Gave away 80 fliers about the Downtown Tour. - Sold: 35 downtown books, 6 bricks, 4 walking tour books, and 3 sets of blue books ($65 to Commission) - Talked to a lot of people, including two ladies from the Lehi equivalent of us. 4. Discuss Tina Petersen's changes to the bylaws we created in August. She will present the bylaws to city council for ratification in October. Two ordinances will also be changed (one-year Chair term will be changed to two years; and the 11-person Commission cap will be removed in favor of 'at least 5 people'). 5. Talk about a Community Partners Appreciation event. Next meeting: Thursday, October 17, 2019 at 7 PM Next meeting: vote to adopt our 2020 budget, and vote to adopt our bylaws
