Description/Agenda

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Commission of Farr West City will hold a Public Hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at City Hall. The purpose of the public hearing is to solicit public opinion on Farr West City developing an agritourism ordinance and allowing agritourism in approved agricultural zones. Agritourism is an approved land use where processes and uses not usually allowed in an agricultural zone are allowed. This is allowed in other areas of Utah and across the country. The goal is to allow more ways for agriculture to remain profitable, in an effort to maintain the rural atmosphere of an area. These uses may include: a small restaurant, food preparation, retail sales of agricultural and related products, tours, training, lodging, and assembly uses in agricultural, and/or agricultural style structures. Buildings and other structures used for other than agricultural purposes shall meet all applicable codes for their intended use.
