3. Power Poles- (lights, outlets)- Magen received a quote to redo the wiring
to redo the outlets to get power to the poles for Christmas lights, it was one thousand dollars a pole; quote given by Westland Electric.
There was a discussion with Keven Staheli, he stated that they do not otherwise for this to be done any longer, however, Goshen was 'grandfathered' into this arrangement, so some things can be done and he will look into details and get back with us on this situation.
For the time being, we will wait to see what Rocky Mountain Power can do, and if they can help with the cost some we will go that route and see if they can do it for us.
Charles Pipkin asked the council about a Franchise agreement between Rocky Mountain Power and Goshen, if it was out of date or not. Reasoning for it was we can get look into possibilities for other sources etc. Council did not know anything about said agreement, and stated that in the future we can look into it.
4. Preview/Approve 2019 Goshen Town's Regular Council Meetings-
Keep Meetings held as usual on second Tuesday's of each month at 7:00PM.
Steven Staheli did have one last other Non-Agenda item; he attended a MAG meeting, (all mayors, Utah County reps etc), they presented a form of resolution that might be passed and the County Commissioners will be meeting about 4th Quarter sales tax. Steven noted that a few years ago Legislature tried to add a Quarter cent sales tax for transportation purposes, it was not passed, but since that time the Legislature has given the authority to the County to implement the sales tax if wanted, effected immediately, and if they don't then the Town could add the Quarter cent sales tax. So this money from the taxes would go directly into the town's funds available end of 2019. If this went into effect, Goshen would get about nine thousand dollars more a year that we could spend on our Town's roads directly. It was stated that at the meeting, every other mayor was leaning to do this tax for the benefits of their cities and towns. It was mentioned to go with it now throughout the county and not wait, and implement it and get the funds sooner than waiting for a couple years. This way, UTA doesn't get all the benefits of this, where as not all towns and cities benefit from UTA, so this will resolve things in many angles in Steven's knowledge from meetings. Most of the towns that we buy from, will implement it so we will be paying it anyway, we might as well just start and have it come to Goshen's roads. Council to discuss further in future and gather more info etc.
