PUBLIC MEETING OF THE DEWEYVILLE TOWN COUNCIL WORK MEETING MINUTES THURSDAY, April 25, 2019 6:00 PM DEWEYVILLE TOWN HALL 10870 N HWY 38 DEWEYVILLE, UTAH Attendance Mayor Lesley Kendrick Council Member Andersen Council Member Taylor Council Member Spackman Council Member Kliger Recorder Nancy Page Absent: Visitors: Opening: Work meeting opened at 6:10 pm Discussion Items: 1. Overview/Discussion on the Deweyville Town Budget for Fiscal Year 2020. - Personnel - Council Member Kliger would like to initiate a raise for Roman Kam & Mike Litchford who take care of the cemetery. Mayor Kendrick would like to propose an increase in Nancy Page, Clerk/Recorder hourly wages, and Laurie Heward/Treasurer hourly wages. To give them $1/hr raise we would have to come up with approx. $3000 more in Personnel. After adjustments adding $3200 to Personnel. - Repair & Maintenance - Future plans are to pave the parking lot, instead of budgeting money now to haul in road base, level, and improve surface - scrape existing surface to level and haul in less fill. This will be a capital funds project. - Public Safety (Fire Department) - Suggestion to have home owners pay all or a portion of fire insurance ($150 per rooftop) next year. Savings would be approximately $6400 per year. - Park & Cemetery - new doors for cemetery buildings, new mowers for park/cemetery (1 push mower & 1 60' deck mower with bagger (sell old mower); extra $500 budgeted for frisbee golf at park. - Capital Funds - budget for new mowers & trimmers, canal sprinkler pumps, future volleyball pit, air conditioning unit in large room; paving of parking lot. New Business: Adjourn: 7:18 PM
