Description/Agenda: NEWTON TOWN 2019 NOTICE OF ELECTION Newton Town will hold a municipal election November 5, 2019 to elect two council members for a four (4) year term. Nominating conventions will be held May 30, 2019 at the Newton Town Hall, 51 South Center, Newton at 7 p.m.. Those nominated must file a Declaration of Candidacy in person with the Newton Town Clerk. This must be done June 3 - 7, 2019 during the hours of 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Qualifications required: - Be a United States citizen at the time of filing. - Be a registered voter of Newton Town. - Be at least 18 years old. - Be a resident of Newton Town for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding the date of the general election; November 5, 2019 - Not be a convicted felon. The required filing form is available at the Newton Town Hall. There is no filing fee.
