Hello EM's ,
I sent out a text from the Group Me app yesterday, but I don't think anyone received it or was aware of a text. Here is the information in an email ??.
The Utah County Junior Medical Reserve Corps, in partnership with the Utah County Medical Reserve Corps, which is part of the Utah County Health Department, is pleased to announce the creation of the series, 'Earthquake, Fires, Floods, What's Next? Emergency Preparedness Fair.' that will take place across Utah County this April - May of 2019.
The mini series will consist of keynote speakers who specialize in fire, earthquake preparedness, safety, and other local experts. A few of these speakers would include, Maralin Hoff with Be Ready Utah, local fire chiefs, and city Emergency Managers.
With including these professionals, we hope residents will see the importance and value
on how to prepare themselves and their families for emergency situations and how they can take advantage of many resources that are already in place.
Here is the overview of what we were thinking:
* the 3 main speakers we are wanting is Maralin Hoff (earthquake lady), the fire department and/or corresponding city Fire Marshall, and then a city Emergency Manager. They will each have about 30 min to speak and then that leaves about 30 minutes for people to look around at the vendors.
* Some ideas for vendors that we will be contacting include CERT, MRC, Be Ready Utah, HAM Radio, Costco, Home Depot, and more. If any of you have any other ideas for speakers or vendors please let me know.
* There are going to be 4 events, but all of them are connected and will give the same information, we are just spreading them throughout the county so they are more accessible to everyone.
