Garfield County Library Board Meeting SEPTEMBER 6, 2018 AT 7:30 PM The Garfield County Board meeting started at 7:30 pm by teleconference. Those who were in attendance were Katheryn Talbot, Barbara Talbot, Suzanne Dunham, Kathy Peterson, Ray Christian and Gay Shakespear. CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 7:30 pm. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES The board moved to approve the minutes as corrected. The motion passed with all in favor. LIBRARIAN REPORTS Katheryn Talbot Katheryn Talbot reported she received confirmation that the Panguitch City Library has received certification for the next year. The new State Library Board has been very understanding of the needs for rural libraries. Brittan from the State has been really kind in including the library in book mobiles trainings and helps. Katheryn was able to attend a book mobile training to learn more about cataloging books. Suzanne Dunham Summer reading was a success with 14 kids and 5 teens completing their reading charts. There has been a problem with children's DVD's being stolen from the library. As a solution to the issue the children's DVD's have been pulled from the shelf and the discs are being placed in a binder behind the counter for check out. Suzanne received the opportunity to learn how to use the Book Mobiles disc cleaner and binding machine. She was really impressed and expressed her thanks to be able to use the book mobiles equipment. BOARD BUSINESS The board had no further business to discuss. SETTING OF NEXT MEETING The next Garfield County Library Board Meeting was tentatively set for November 1, 2018 at 7:30 PM. ADJOURNMENT Suzanne Dunham moved, seconded by Kathy Talbot to adjourn at 8 PM.
