Deweyville has approx $370,000 cash; our largest asset infrastructure is water resource/water tank - depreciation taken yearly, tracking replacement values. Annual Water revenue is approx $86,000. General Fund largest revenue in taxes, sales tax, franchise tax, etc. General Fund sits with approx $118,000. Transparency reports are submitted quarterly to the state. Bank statements are reviewed monthly with more than one person involved in accounting purposes. Public access for meetings have been given. All information is available to the public.
6. Brian Carver - Community Development Director of BRAG -Our plan is 8 years old and recommended revision should be every 5 years or so. Our goal would be to consolidate, shorten, and simplify the length of the General Plan. Step 1 would be to recognize the current condition of the town and what vision is needed. The point of the plan is to keep resolutions and ordinances current, along with the P & Z code. Three requirements by the- state for a general plan include - a section that talks about land use and development; roads and transportation; & housing plans and affordability. Encourages communities to look at economic development- employment opportunity, tax base, and the character of the community. What qualities do the residents want to see in the community? Objectives and policy is a common way to write a general plan
No need to duplicate planning & zoning info into general plan. Brian Carver is willing to help us. Brian has access to a Survey Monkey & questions that we could poll the residents by either email or regular mail, or provide link to a public website. USU Planning Department can provide students to help compile information. Brian will send us some examples of other city plans, flow charts, & survey questions. We would be required to have at least 2 public meetings in this process.
