Before the meeting, a concerned citizen asked the Mayor about the sycamore tree that is growing near his home at 20 West 100 North. The tree has a steel pole grown into it and the pole needs to be cut off for safety. Nathan Nielson will do this as soon as possible. F. Financial Report. The Financial Report was Read and Approved by Board Action. G. Departmental Reports. Warren Rogers. The Mayor told Warren that Vee Lovell passed away this morning and the funeral and grave digging will be pending. Jeff Lyman and Kim Nielson helped Warren dig a grave for Jay Atkinson. Warren gave Kim Nielson copies of the Bald Hill drawings. Craig Dutson. Checked the plow's tires last week and the front tire was very low. He is watching to see if it has a leak or if it was just due to cold weather. Talked to Kim Nielson about the back hoe teeth. Kim will work on this. Dave Steele. Attended the Intermountain Power Association's (IPA) annual meeting, with Craig Dutson, last month. They gave the status of the changeover of the Intermountain Power Plant (IPP) and some of the potential projects being looked at. Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems (UAMPS) held its meeting yesterday. Dave didn't attend. UAMPS is conducting a member survey about electronic metering. Dave will get a copy of it when it is done. They will be distributing a news release soon, by the Department of Energy, on the Carbon Free project. There were no outages. Flowell Electric installed a lift pole for Ron Erickson. They also repaired the street lights but the one in front of 145 North Main Street (Crandall Nielson) didn't come on so they will still be working on this. They also replaced a pole at Scott Petersons's home and dropped the line by 160 South Main (Vance Finlinson) for the tree trimming, and then put the line back up. Penny's has been trimming trees. It costs $150 an hour and they have been given a $10,000 limit. Vance Finlinson's tree was removed and will be billed differently as it was more of a street tree, not a power line issue. So far, they have done $6,800 worth of tree trimming or removal, pretty much on Main street. People are taking most of the limbs off. Dave has only had one or two little complaints. Most people have been pretty positive about it. Main street is now done. They will be doing other street starting tomorrow. Dave wonders what to do about the big stumps. Penny's doesn't have the equipment to pull them out. Penny's will treat them and will just see how that goes. There is not a lot more to do. There are trees that are located in power lines but on personal property and some have to be removed. Dave is talking to property owners on these. He asked the Council if they were aware of any more big trees that need to be removed? No one did but Dave will look at the map and see. Monica Niles. Monica was not in attendance but had called Karen and let her know that she had purchased the Apple Cider for the Town Christmas Eve Program. H. Miscellaneous. There was no miscellaneous items. I. Adjournment. Craig motioned, seconded by Dave, to adjourn. Roll Call Vote: Mayor Christensen-Aye. Dave-Aye. Craig-Aye. Warren-Aye. The meeting adjourned at 8:32 p.m. Respectfully Submitted, __________________________________ Karen K. Lovell, Oak City Town Clerk Approved By: ______________________________________ Ken Christensen-Mayor After the meeting, the Council members and others sacked the candy for the Christmas Eve Program.
