CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION ____________________________________________________________________________ NOTICE OF MEETING Notice is hereby given that the Salt Lake City Civil Service Commission will hold a meeting at 4:00pm on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 451 South State Street, Room 126, Salt Lake City Utah. AGENDA 1. Approve the minutes from November 15, 2018 meeting. 2. Determine Jurisdiction for Appeal Hearing request received from Sherry Cardon. If jurisdiction is confirmed set dates for hearing and pre-hearing. 3. Determine Jurisdiction for Petition received from Nathan Lyday and conduct hearing if jurisdiction is affirmed. 4. Determine Jurisdiction for Petition received from Christopher Tengono and conduct hearing if jurisdiction is affirmed. 5. Approval of 2018 Lateral Firefighter/Paramedic Continual Eligibility Register 6. Reinstatement of Mark Petersen 7. Fire Department Personnel Changes 8. Police personnel changes for October 2018 - December 2018 9. Upcoming Police Department Personnel Changes Due to Assimilation of Salt Lake City International Airport Police, effective December 30, 2018 10. Notification of names removed from police department eligibility registers. 11. Request to reinstate Peter Sadler to the position of Police Officer. 12. Request to reinstate Anthony Brereton to the position of Police Officer. The Civil Service Commission will consider a motion to enter into Closed Session. A closed meeting described under Utah Code § 52-4-205 may be held for specific purposes including, but not limited to: a. discussion of the character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of an individual; c. strategy sessions to discuss pending or reasonably imminent litigation; f. discussion regarding deployment of security personnel, devices, or systems; and g. Investigative proceedings regarding allegations of criminal misconduct. A closed meeting may also be held for attorney-client matters that are privileged pursuant to Utah Code § 78B-1-137, and for other lawful purposes that satisfy the pertinent requirements of the Utah Open and Public Meetings Act.
