COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the Cottonwood Heights City Council will hold a Business Meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, in the Cottonwood Heights City Council Chambers located at 2277 East Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. 7:00 p.m. 1.0 WELCOME/PLEDGE 2.0 ACKNOWLEDGMENTS 2.1 Introduction of new CH PD Officer Kyler Burroughs, by Chief Russo (Chief Russo will introduce the newest member of the Ch PD team to City Council.) 3.0 CITIZEN COMMENTS (Please note: In order to be considerate of everyone attending the meeting public comments will typically be limited to three minutes per person per item. A spokesperson who has been asked by a group to summarize their concerns will be allowed five minutes to speak. Comments which cannot be made within these limits should be submitted in writing to the City Recorder prior to noon the day of the meeting.) 4.0 STANDING MONTHLY REPORTS 4.1 Monthly Financial Report - Administrative Services Director Bryce Haderlie (The Administrative Services Director will report the city finances for the month of September 2018.) 4.2 Unified Fire Report - Assistant Chief Mike Watson (Report by Assistant Chief Watson on medical and fire calls responded by Cottonwood Heights' stations during the month of September 2018; as well as other informational items from UFA.) 5.0 ACTION ITEMS 5.1 Consideration of Ordinance 308 Adopting a Wasatch Blvd. Master Plan. (This ordinance will adopt the Wasatch Blvd. Master Plan as recommended by the planning commission.) 5.2 Consideration of Resolution 2018-19 Approving the Appointment of S. Scott Jurges as the City's Finance and Administrative Services Director. (By this resolution the council will approve the city manager's appointment of S. Scott Jurges as the city's finance and administrative services director. Mr. Jurges also will act as the city's budget officer.) 6.0 CONSENT CALENDAR 6.1 Approval of the City Council Business Meeting minutes for July 17 and September 25. Also, approval of the City Council Work Session Minutes of August 14 and 22, 2018. 7.0 ADJOURN BUSINESS MEETING AND RECONVENE WORK SESSION NOTICE OF COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the Cottonwood Heights City Council will hold a Work Session at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, in the Cottonwood Heights City Council Work Room located at 2277 East Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah WORK SESSION 5:00 pm 1. Granite Construction Donation - Mark Greenwood, Rick Skinner and Ty Bradley of Granite Construction (Representatives of Granite Construction will present their donation to the city council of electric vehicle charge stations for city hall.) 2. Public Relations Report - Dan Metcalf (Public Relations Specialist Dan Metcalf will provide Cottonwood Heights media reports with staff follow-up, where needed.) 3. Review of Business Meeting Agenda (Mayor Peterson will review the upcoming business meeting agenda with the city council.) 4. City Council and Staff Reports (Each week city council and staff provide informational reports from attended meetings and each department to allow for a method of keeping up on the day-to-day activities of the city. This report is available on the internet at www.ch.utah.gov. This agenda item is set aside to allow council members to ask questions or for staff to bring the council up to date of any changes since the report was made.) a. Discussion of proposed amendments to the city hall facility use policy to allow alcohol use at private parties - City Attorney Shane Topham b. Central Wasatch Commission's two-day workshop report (budget, strategic planning, membership, etc.) - Mayor Mike Peterson c. Proposed annual schedule for regular meetings of the City Council - City Manager Tim Tingey d. Proposed City Council meetings priority log - City Manager Tim Tingey e. Proposed FTE Administrative Assistant - City Manager Tim Tingey (+/-) 8:00 p.m. 5. Citizen Comments from City Council Business Meeting (The city council will discuss public comments of the preceding business meeting and how citizen comments will be addressed.) 6. Closed Meeting to Discuss Litigation, Property Acquisition and the Character and Professional Competence or Physical or Mental Health of an Individual 8. ADJOURN On Monday, October 22, 2018 at 2:40 p.m. a copy of the foregoing notices was posted in conspicuous view in the front foyer of the Cottonwood Heights City Offices, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. A copy of this notice was faxed to the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News, newspapers of general circulation in the City by the Office of the City Recorder.
