BOARD OF EDUCATION WORKSHOP Tuesday, October 16, 2018 4:00 PM Administration Building, 45 East State Street, Farmington, UT A. Announcements Presenter: Pres. John L. Robison B. Public Comment Period Public comments on items which are not otherwise on a Board agenda will be accepted for approximately fifteen (15) minutes. Each speaker will be allowed a maximum of three (3) minutes. C. 4:00 p.m. - Junior High #17 Name Proposal and Update Presenter: Dr. Darrell White and Mr. Dave Tanner D. 4:10 p.m. - Audit Handbook and Charter Presenter: Ms. Mona Andrus, Ms. Michelle Caldwell-Pierce E. 4:25 p.m. - Boundary Adjustments for Bountiful Elementary and Valley View Elementary After studying the boundaries between Valley View and Bountiful Elementary Schools for three years, we are proposing to take the section East of Bountiful Boulevard from Bountiful Elementary and put that section in Valley View's boundaries. Presenter: Dr. Helene Van Natter F. 4:40 p.m. - 2019-2020 School Calendars The calendar committee is ready to propose the 2019-2020 school year calendar for board approval. Presenter: Dr. Helene Van Natter G. 4:50 p.m. - Y2 Analytics Mr. Chris Williams will report on the findings of a recent communication survey conducted by Y2 Analytics. Presenter: Mr. Chris Williams H. 5:00 p.m. - Utah Consolidated Application Review Each year in October, the board is presented the Utah Consolidated Plan. This year, USBE has initiated a conversion to a new system, Utah Grants. This year USBE will be using both systems. These systems provide for control over and oversight for the various Federal Grants that we receive: Title I, Title II, Title III, IDEA, Migrant Ed, McKinney-Vento and 21st Century. Also, many programs funded by the state are also managed through these systems: Interventions for Student Success, Enhancement for At-Risk Students, Early Intervention Program, Early Literacy Program, and Accelerated Student Programs. Presenter: Mr. John Zurbuchen A Closed Meeting May Be Held to Discuss Property, Negotiations, and Personnel Issues
