Planning Commission
June 14, 2018
Planning Commission Present: Deb Bayles
Robert Ogle
Ted Black
City Planner Present: Bret Hosler
City Council Representative Present: Logan Shumway
Minutes: Mikaela Ramsay
Item#1. Deb welcomed everyone at 7:02 pm. She asked if everyone had a chance to read over the agenda and minutes of the May 10, 2018. Robert made a motion to accept the agenda and the minutes with one correction, Deb seconded the motion and it carried.
Item#2. Deb invited Bret to open a discussion on a Land use rights training meeting. Jeremy wants to get the Mayor and the City Council involved too. They are thinking of holding it July 12th, but they want to be sure the date chosen is one where they can have a good attendance from both the City Council and the Planning Commission members. Bret is wondering if the Planning Commission would like to count the July meeting for the August one. There was a general consent to cancel the August meeting only if there aren't any time sensitive issues to take care of. Robert made an advice and consent to decide in the end of July if there will be an August 9th meeting. That decision will be dependent on any time sensitive projects needing to be reviewed by the Planning Commission.
There was some discussion about the Planning Commission's roll in streamlining minor subdivisions, and that they are authorized to approve of minor subdivisions because a lot of the expensive infrastructure is already in place.
Item#3. Deb turned the proposed Major subdivision at 300 West 7-8 00 south over to Bret. He explained that the project is just in the first stages of planning, and so it will be a while until they are ready to have it reviewed. They are thinking of bringing this twenty-lot area in as a R2. They would have to go through the annexation process first, then they could go through a major subdivision process.
Item#4. There were no Planning Commission reports or discussions.
Item#5. Deb will have Mikaela send email updates on a July 12th training meeting and the August 9th meeting.
Deb made a motion to adjourn, Ted seconded the motion and it carried. The meeting ended at 7:55 pm.
