Thursday, September 6, 2018
Located at Fayette Town Hall at 7:00 pm
Agenda facilitated by Mayor Brenda Leifson
1) Call to order 7:01pm
2) Prayer by Kathi Williams
3) Roll Call: John Bown, Brandon Jensen, Patricia Murphy, Joan Spainhower, Kathi Williams, Mayor Brenda Leifson
4) Reviewed and approved the August 2, 2018 meeting minutes. Patricia made a motion to accept the minutes as they stand. Joan 2nd the motion. The motion carried.
5) John Iverson addressed us on the new Water Project at Pump C. He held a training meeting at 11:00am that morning with Nathan King and Lee Leifson to train them on the new pump, Dave Bown was unable to attend training. John addressed some Warranty issues while showing Nathan and Lee the pumps, but all is good and the system is ready and running when the State gives permission to use it. If Pump B fails then Pump C will take over. All testing on Water came back good.
6) Review of Expenditures. The town Council talked about the use of a Credit Card for Council expenses. Also talked about a bank online to keep track of account. Gunnison Valley Bank will not be going online at all. John asked for motion to accept the expenditures. Joan 2nd the motion. Patricia abstained. Others passed the motion.
7) John talked about the wild fire organization and the cleanup that needed to take place in town. John will check with Jed and get back to the Mayor.
8) Considering the Unkempt and possibly dangerous properties. The Mayor did some reading and found no Ordinances that were signed so she wanted to table it for now.
9) Nathan King wanted to talk about the Cross Connections of water lines. John Bown said he knew about them and that they had been fixed. Dave Bown had come and checked them off when they were fixed.
10) Consider the Property for sale. There is a person selling 10 acres and wondered if the Town was interested. All agreed to say no!
11) The next item was to consider the Flood problem areas. Patricia said that she had filed all the FEMA requests but it would take time to receive any contact back. Brandon brought up a Grant that was available next year, 2019, Called NRCS. He would get any information to Patricia. He also would talk to Ryan about coming to visit a Town Council meeting to explain it to all of us.
12) Follow up on splitting Treasurer and Recorder. The State Auditor wanted both positions separated. The Council decided to let Kathi stay and do both positions with the Mayor checking on all that is going on with the Check and balance system.
Nathan King had a computer laptop donated to him by Joan Spainhower. He will use the laptop to keep track of all of the water needs of the town. Thank you to Joan!!
Nathan King also reported on the new Pump house and the water situation. He said that the water was rising and doing well right now. He would like a Dolly with straps to carry the cylinders.
