Elwood Town Council Meeting June 12, 2018 The Elwood Town Council met at the Elwood Town Hall, 5235 West 8800 North, Elwood, Utah, at 7:00, June 12, 2018. The following members were present consisting of a quorum. Keenan Nelson Mayor Oakley Nelson Councilmember Mike Pace Councilmember Staff present at this meeting Gina Marble Town Clerk Steve Woerner Public Works Director Others present at this meeting Kathryn Bodrero David Fidler WELCOME ADMINISTRATION Councilmember Pace gave the opening prayer. Councilmember Yates and Councilmember Howard was absent Item#1 Public Hearing-2018-2019 Budget & Revised 2017-2018 Budget Councilmember Nelson made a motion to open the public hearing. Councilmember Pace seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in favor of the motion. Mayor Nelson welcomed everyone to the meeting, Mayor Nelson explained the 2017-2018 revised budget, we had over spent in some departments and under spent in others we adjusted the accounts. Mayor Nelson asked the public and town council if there was any questions or comments. No comments or questions was asked. Mayor explained the 2108-2019 budget, we are not doing any mayor projects this year, and there is no tax increase we will maintain your departments and work with in your budgets. Mayor asked the council and citizens if they had any questions or comments. There was no public or council comments or questions. Councilmember Nelson made a motion to close the public hearing. Councilmember Pace seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in favor of the motion. Councilmember Pace made a motion to open the town council meeting. Councilmember Nelson seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in favor of the motion. Minutes for the May 8, 2018 town council meetings was presented for approval. Councilmember Nelson made a motion to approve the minutes for May 8, 2018. Councilmember Pace seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in favor of the motion. Item#2 Resolution 2018-002- Revised 2017-2018 budget. Councilmember Pace made a motion to adopt resolution 2018-002 the revised 2017-2018 Budget. Councilmember Nelson seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in favor of the motion. Item#3 Resolution 2018-003- 2018-2019 budget Councilmember Pace made a motion to adopt resolution 2018-003 the 2108-2019 budget. Councilmember Nelson seconded the motion. The voting was unanimous in favor of the motion. Item#4 Youth Council report-Youth Council was not present. Item#5 Curtis Crouch-Animal Control Report-Mayor Nelson reported there was an altercation in the Thompson subdivision regarding dogs, a dog was on a leash and another dog went out of the yard and into the street and attack the dog that was on the leash. Curtis went to the call and the citizen got on Curtis and he quit. We have an opening for an animal control officer Mayor Nelson asked Gina to advertise it for 2 weeks to fil the position. Item#6 Planning Commission Report-Kathy Bodrero reported that they are wrapping up the definitions Gill is working on the last draft. Megan Burbidge is the new planning commission secretary. Item#4 Sargent Archuleta-Sheriff's report, Sargent Archuleta was not present. WATER Steve Woerner had nothing to report. SEWER Steve Woerner had nothing to report. PARKS AND RECREATION Councilmember Pace reported that we are good on most things for the 4th of July, we are still looking for help with lunch ROADS Steve Woerner mowed the roads. EMERGENCY PREPARDNESS Gina Marble reported that the emergency preparedness expo had a good turnout but we had bad weather. OTHER Councilmember Pace made a motion to adjourn, Councilmember Nelson seconded the motion and the remaining council agreed.
