Craig Dutson.
Craig was not in attendance but the Mayor reported for him and discussed a couple of other issues having to do with Craig's department. The dump truck battery is dead. Jeff Lyman, past Council member, and Craig have talked about getting electricity into the Shed so they can charge the dump truck battery and other items. This needs to get done.
Jeff Lyman went up to get the backhoe to dig a grave and it was so low in fuel that he didn't dare start it. Need to make sure not to run it that low. Maybe need another key to unlock the gas pump so it is more accessible.
Warren Rogers.
June 30, transferred a plot.
July 5, sold a plot.
July13, had a grave dug. The backhoe needs some new teeth. The Cemetery is quite variable as to the condition of the ground for digging. Sometimes it is pretty easy to dig and other times it is very rocky which dulls the backhoe teeth.
July 14, the Taylor Boardman funeral and burial took place. Boardmans gave Jeff Lyman the payment for the cost of digging the grave. Jeff gave this to DeAnn Steele, Oak City Town Treasurer.
July 16, was informed of Arlene Copeland's death. Talked to some people to figure out where she was supposed to be buried at the Cemetery. Jeff Lyman figured it out. The grave has been dug by Kim Nielson. Warren has made sure all the paperwork on this burial was entered into the computer.
At this time, the Mayor stated that the Well pump has been running for about a month now. He originally thought there was a problem with the pump as it lost water quickly when it was turned on. However, it was not the pump but a leak on a water line at the Cemetery. The pump is fine now.
Kim Nielson asked Warren about the project to get a water pump on Bald Hill. The Mayor stated that this is something that needs to be discussed with the property owners in the area to see who is going to do what. It was decided to hold a Special Town Board Meeting for this on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The Mayor will contact the affected parties to set up the meeting.
The Mayor reported that the guy from the State came over, dropped his monitor down in the Well, and it is just as full as it was originally. Will be watching it. The Mayor thought it would be good to have Dan Hawley, of Jones and DeMille, come and do a pump test to see exactly where things really are.
The Mayor has talked to Trevor and Chelse' Anderson several times but still hasn't been able to work out a right-of- way to go around Trevor's house to put in the water pipe. Will plan to have Trevor attend the August 1st meeting and have this item on that agenda for discussion. Will invite Dan Hawley to this meeting also.
Dave Steele.
Dave wondered if the documentation on the Intermountain Power Agency Resolution got sent in. Karen will ask the Town's attorney as he said he would send it in.
The Mayor got a letter from Intermountain Power Agency (IPA) about having the Mayor designate who would be the Town's IPA rep. Will designate Ted Olson with Eric Larsen as his alternate. The Mayor will send that letter in.
Everyone should have received an invite from Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems (UAMPS) for their annual
membership meeting. It is the same week as Oak City Days but if anyone can go, they would be welcome.
There are several letters coming out of Washington on the NuScale Project. The support and interest in this Project is growing. There was even an article published in Forbes Magazine and it was very favorable. NuScale has published
a brochure on it also.
There was an outage on June 24 on First North to First West and everybody West of this. It lasted about an hour and half. Dave replaced a fuse.
Park Whiseant's two power connections were installed last month. Flowell Electric removed some cable.
Monica.
Has the Mayor heard back on the sheet rock bid? He had not. They said it would be about two weeks but it has been longer than that. Monica will check on this tomorrow.
Nathan Nielson asked about replacing the basement door that was kicked in at the Town Hall. The Mayor said that he would like to get it replaced and get one with a bolt. Probably should replace the glass doors too. Dave wondered about getting security cameras in the Hall. Could check into this at least. Dave has even wondered about getting a camera at the utility drop box at their house. The Mayor suggested that one could be put on the water tower also.
I. Miscellaneous.
Mayor Christensen.
The first responders are almost through with their training and the process of getting accepted into the system.
Dave Steele.
During the week, Dave got on the Rural Planning Group's web site. He found some ideas that might work for issues the Town has. One being creating a capital assets list including the life span of assets and the condition of those assets. Dave will look into some of these items and report back if he finds something he thinks the Town could use.
J. Adjournment.
Monica moved, seconded by Warren, to adjourn. Roll Call Vote: Mayor Christensen-Aye. Dave-Aye. Monica-Aye. Warren-Aye.
The meeting adjourned at 9:52 pm.
