Others Present: Aaron Bronson, Dan Reynoso, and others.

Invocation was given.
Approval of Minutes After small changes to the May 2018 minutes were made, Councilmember Jeremy Allred moved to approve the May 23, 2018 minutes and Councilmember Lucy Gold seconded the motion. All voted in favor except Dallin Mangels, who abstained from voting.
New Business 1. Sheriff Doug Anderson gave the council information on mock disaster trainings that will be held for the benefit of municipal leaders county-wide once or twice a year. He announced the first one would be held on July 5th. Additionally, he mentioned that the County would be doing a commodity flow study to research what types of chemicals are being transported along I-15 through Juab County. Sheriff Anderson also announced that there would be a training for kids to get certified in ATV safety, and they would need a list of interested children by August 18th.
2. Upcoming Rocky Ridge Days was discussed briefly. Sheriff Doug Anderson offered help to make it a safe event and mentioned safety concerns with the parade. After some discussion, it was suggested that it would be a good idea to have two spotters for each parade entry, one on each side of the road. Councilmember Jeremy Allred volunteered to communicate to those in charge of the parade that spotters would be needed and to delegate the responsibility of double checking that to Stephen Bunker.
3. Aaron Bronson made a request to have the Town Meetings held meetings downstairs by the library, which would help to better facilitate the scheduling of the building. It was decided that all Town Meetings from then on would be held downstairs.
4. A public hearing was held to approve the 2018-2019 fiscal budget. The budget had only a few minor modifications from the prior preliminary budget with the exception of an additional $10,000 being added to the road budget upon Terry Allred's prior request. While discussing the budget, Terry Allred announced that the Town dump truck's clutch is going out and he felt it was time to look at other options. Terry presented the options of getting a used truck or finding something nicer. The prior

dump truck was purchased used from state surplus for $8,000 in 2001. Terry showed an option he was
looking into, an old DOT truck from Cedar City which comes with a plow, included in cost. He estimated
that they could get ten years out of the truck. He also mentioned that lease options may be available,
but said he did not believe it would be worth it. The listed price for the used dump truck was $14,900.
Mayor Ron Allred said the Town should go with Terry's recommendation, and the Town Council
supported the decision.
Dan Reynoso asked about the budget for safety items such as speed bumps, and made a request for
another speed bump on Rocky Ridge Road near the first one. Discussion ensued as to what types of
speed bumps would work best. It was decided that Terry Allred would get some bids on speed dips,
which are more permanent.
Forrest Lewis moved to approve the 2018-2019 fiscal budget, and Lucy Gold seconded the motion. All
voted in favor. Town Clerk Cathy Lummus said that a special meeting would have to be held to amend
the new budget, as it was not announced in the public hearing for this meeting. A special meeting was
set for that purpose on June 28th at 6:30 p.m.
5. Cathy Lummus made a request that the Town Council appoint Deputy Clerk Bethany Sturgeon as the
new Records Officer for the Town. All voted in favor of this appointment.
Old Business
1. Town Municipal Code Sections needing to be amended were discussed. Section 6 did not need
amending, other than punctuation errors. Section 7 would need to be gone over by the water
department later. Section 8 would be discussed at the next meeting, as well as Section 9 and 10.
2. Rocky Ridge Cleanup Day did not get planned and the Council discussed doing it after Rocky Ridge
Days. The 14th of July was proposed, and Town Clerk Cathy Lummus said she would contact Jay Mecham
about that date.

be done online can be done in Juab County. Sheriff Doug Anderson is trying to get trainings set up as
well.
Park Department
The park dumpster has been taken and the Town will be needing it for the summer. Town Clerk Cathy
Lummus said she would follow up on that.
Mayor Ron Allred announced that Kelly Bronson would no longer be doing the park and that Lane Allred
would be taking over again. Dallin Mangels asked if this position should be advertised and Ron asked
Cathy to look into the rules on this.

Dan Reynoso asked about a walking path alongside Rocky Ridge Road. Discussion ensued about the
