CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER DUCHESNE COUNTY GREG TODD, Chairman PO Box 270, 734 North Center Street, Duchesne, Utah 84021 (435) 738-1100 UPDATED EMERGENCY ORDER OF EVACUATION (Updated on July 4, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.) Effective Immediately WHEREAS, an aggressive wild fire is occurring in the Dollar Ridge region, approximately 4.5 miles southeast of Strawberry Reservoir (hereinafter, the 'Dollar Ridge Fire'); WHEREAS, fire officials have considered the Dollar Ridge Fire to be the most complex wildfire currently burning in the State of Utah; WHEREAS, an emergency condition exists in Duchesne County, State of Utah; WHEREAS, it has been determined that a need exists to evacuate a portion of Duchesne County in order to ensure public safety. NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to Utah Code Annotated §53-2A-205, Authority of chief executive officers of political subdivisions-Ordering of evacuations; in order to protect life and property, the Chief Executive Officer of Duchesne County is requesting the IMMEDIATE EVACUATION within the following boundary lines: Begriming at the Wasatch/Duchesne Countv Line and Highway 40, East along Highway 40 to the Strawberry River Road Junction, South and West along the Strawberry River Road to the Lake Canyon Road. South and West along the Lake Canyon Road to the end of the road and West to the Duchesne/Wasatch Countv Line. Including within one mile of either side of the Strawberry River Road and the Lake Canyon Road. Violation of said order is a violation of state law and punishable by up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. Any violations will be strictly enforced. This order also restricts all entry to the established hazard area. No one will be allowed to re-enter the area until the evacuation order has been removed. Duchesne County will advise the public of the lifting of this order when public safety is assured. Ordered and signed this 4th day of July, 2018 by the Chief Executive Officer of Duchesne County.
