COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the Cottonwood Heights City Council will hold a Business Meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, in the Cottonwood Heights City Council Chambers located at 2277 East Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. 7:00 p.m. 1.0 WELCOME/PLEDGE 2.0 CITIZEN COMMENTS (Please note: In order to be considerate of everyone attending the meeting public comments will typically be limited to three minutes per person per item. A spokesperson who has been asked by a group to summarize their concerns will be allowed five minutes to speak. Comments which cannot be made within these limits should be submitted in writing to the City Recorder prior to noon the day of the meeting.) 3.0 ACTION ITEMS 3.1 Consideration of Ordinance 300 Granting a Telecommunications System Franchise to MCIMetro Access Transmission Services Corp. d/b/a Verizon Access Transmission Services. (This ordinance will grant MCIMetro the right to install a telecommunications fiber system in the public right of way to service future 'small cell' and other telecommunications antennae in the city as required by applicable federal law and SB 189 enacted by the Utah State Legislature.) 3.2 Consideration of Ordinance 301 Adopting a Proposed Budget for the Period of 1 July 2018 through 30 June 2019; Making Appropriations for the Support of Cottonwood Heights for such Period; and Determining the Rate of Tax and Levying Taxes Upon All Real and Personal Property Within the city of Cottonwood Heights, Subject to Subsequent Adoption of a Final Budget and Rate of Tax in Compliance with Truth in Taxation Requirements. (By this ordinance, the council will adopt a proposed budget for the 2018-2019 fiscal year and the rate of property tax necessary to provide the property tax funds contemplated by such proposed budget, subject to subsequent adoption of a final budget for such fiscal year and a final rate of property tax in compliance with Utah's 'Truth in Taxation' statutory requirements). 3.3 Consideration of Resolution 2018-34 Approving an Interlocal Agreement with Salt Lake County for TRCC Funding (Lighting for Butler Middle School Auditorium). (This resolution will approve the city's entry into an interlocal cooperation agreement with Salt Lake County for a grant of $33,060 in TRCC funds for use in upgrading the lighting in the Butler Middle School auditorium, as requested by the city's Arts Council.) 3.4 Consideration of Resolution 2018-38 Approving an Interlocal Agreement with Salt Lake County for a Grant of $3,380 in Corridor Preservation Funding (Highland Drive and Fort Union Blvd. Intersection Project). (This resolution will approve the city's entry into an interlocal cooperation agreement with Salt Lake County for a grant of $3,380 in county corridor preservation funds for use in upgrading the intersection of Fort Union Blvd. and Highland Drive in the city.) 4.0 CONSENT CALENDAR 4.1 Approval of the City Council Business Meeting minutes for January 2 and April 10, 2018. And, the City Council Work Session minutes for May 5 and 12, 2018. 5.0 ADJOURN BUSINESS MEETING AND RECONVENE WORK SESSION NOTICE OF COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the Cottonwood Heights City Council will hold a Work Session at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, in the Cottonwood Heights City Council Work Room located at 2277 East Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah WORK SESSION 5:00 pm 1. Review of Business Meeting Agenda (Mayor Peterson will review the upcoming business meeting agenda with the city council.) 2. Public Relations Report - Dan Metcalf (Public Relations Specialist Dan Metcalf will provide Cottonwood Heights media reports with Staff follow-up, where needed.) 3. City Council and Staff Reports (Each week City Council and staff provide informational reports from attended meetings and each department to allow for a method of keeping up on the day-to-day activities of the City. This report is available on the internet at www.ch.utah.gov. This agenda item is set aside to allow Council members to ask questions or for staff to bring Council up to date of any changes since the report was made.) 4. Pavement Condition Index Study Report - JUB Engineering (JUB Engineering and Brad Gilson, City Engineer will provide the city council a report on the Pavement Condition Index study that is being completed.). 6:30 p.m. 5. Canyons School District (Monthly Presentation by Ms. Amber Shill with Canyons School District.) (+/-) 8:00 p.m. 6. Citizen Comments from City Council Business Meeting (The city council will discuss public comments of the preceding business meeting and how citizen comments will be addressed.) 7. Review of Calendars and Upcoming Events Councilmember schedules for the next week: a. July 5 - 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. - Bengal Round-a-bout Open House, City Hall b. July 23 and 24 - Butlerville Days 8. Closed Meeting to Discuss Litigation, Property Acquisition and the Character and Professional Competence or Physical or Mental Health of an Individual 9. A copy of this notice was faxed to the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News, newspapers of general circulation in the City by the Office of the City Recorder.
