He and his wife recently moved to Marysvale. He spent 32 years in the Air Force and National Guard. He spent 9 years in the UTA and retired from there. He said his desire is to be a part of the community and contribute. Action- Milo made a motion to accept his application to be on the planning commission, Ann seconded, passed. Topic-GIS Mapping Discussion-Paul Damron from Precision Mapping gave the town a bid to map the water system, street signs, irrigation system, zoning, parcels/property boundary, home page, base map layers, miscellaneous items, and host GIS online. The bid was $2999.25 and an annual fee of $504.00 to host the account. Action- Milo made a motion that we accept this proposal with the stipulation that there are three payments. An initial one to the get the project started, a middle one to show us the progress, and a final one when the work is done, Ann seconded, passed. 3. Topic- Heritage Highway Discussion-Milo reported that he got another $18,000.00 for the dance hall project. There is still another $25,000.00 on the table. There is a total of $50,000.00 that could be offered for this project. Milo said as soon as he receives more invoices that have been paid he can get more money. Mayor Fautin said that she went to a grant training meeting and they told her how to get money for this project and to fix up the park. The mayor asked Milo if the dance hall was on the historical register. He said that he didn't think so but the Heritage Highway doesn't need it to be to get money for this project. Kristie asked if the Heritage Highway has any funds to help fix up the old rock school house. She would like to see restrooms and a visitor center put in the school house. Milo said that there is money available. The mayor said that she needs to check into the agreement that we have with the craft people at the old rock school house. She will get back to the board when she finds out. Action-no action was taken 4. Topic-Mike Domansky- questions about lots Discussion-David Pratz is representing Mike on some property he owns. The property is located approximately 785 S Old Highway 89. He has two lots that are a little less that one acre and he wants to know if there will be any problem getting a building permit for them. David said that he went to the court house and the lots have been established as far back as the Shane Millett, the county recorder, could see. Milo said that they would be grandfathered in and there wouldn't be a problem. David said that they are officially going to combine the lots when they get ready to build a home. Action- Milo made a motion that we make it a matter of the minutes the lots that the Domansky's own qualify for a building permit because they precede the ordinances and are grandfathered in and they should be able to get a building permit, Gloria seconded, passed. Follow up from the last meeting: Milo asked that we have a follow up from the last meeting. He asked how the community garden is coming along. Mayor Fautin reported that the community garden is coming along. The county road crew has come down and helped Nathan clear a spot and it looks very nice. DeeLynn Fautin is going to come and plow it up. Nathan and the mayor are still working on getting water to it. The DWR will provide fencing but they won't put the fence up. It was suggested that it might be an Eagle Scout project. The town cleanup is still scheduled for the 19th of May. Mayor Fautin would like to send out a town newsletter with the water bills. Mayor Fautin met with UDOT to update the roads. She and Nathan are in the process of updating the roads. She said that hopefully that will bring in a little more road money. Mayor Fautin attended a leadership meeting in Richfield at Snow College. She said that they had a wonderful speaker from Colorado that was a retired Colonel out of the Air Force that spoke on leadership. Also Mitt Romney spoke about leadership. Mayor Fautin met with Layne Torgersen to see about finishing up the road projects. She doesn't want it scheduled around the 24th of July or the ATV Jamboree. She was thinking either June or late summer. She said they will have their schedule out soon. Milo said that he would like Nathan to put up two yields signs on Rio Grande as was discussed last meeting. Nathan suggested that the stop sign be left up. Milo would like it changed. Nathan said that he would get it done. Fire Chief Wade Fautin is waiting on a bid to get the door fixed at the fire house. Mayor Fautin asked about the purchase of fireworks. The fireworks were purchased last year but they were not used because of the dry conditions. Paul James takes care of the fireworks in exchange for getting his water bill paid. Wendy will talk to him and see where we are at with the fireworks for this year. Mayor Fautin said the street light was replaced by Rocky Mt Power. Discussion- Steve Adams asked how soon was the brush along the roads going to get cut down. Mayor Fautin reported that Wade is waiting for a part for the brush cutting machine then he will get it done. She reported that some of the brush has gotten out of control and it might take a chain saw to remove them. Milo said that the building on Main Street in front of the fire house is looking better. Mayor Fautin reported that Cory Fautin is reroofing it so his daughter can have her hair shop in it. Ann made a motion to pay the bills as presented, Milo seconded, passed. Mayor Fautin would like to acknowledge Jeff Knowles for all the hard work that he does for the community. She saw the flags at the veteran memorial park were up and looked very nice. Jeff reported that the scouts helped with this project. Gloria asked if there were enough donations to update the names at the memorial park. Jeff said that they are still working on it and a fund raiser is scheduled on Memorial Day.
