Meeting Minutes
Monday April 17, 2017
Work session- Opened at 7:36 PM Council discussed the spring cleanup.
Social media discussion and adopting a policy that would allow only one person to be able to post to the Town Facebook page and website. Council feels that items to be posted need to be approved by the Council. The upcoming budget was discussed and there will be a public hearing next month to open the current budget to make any changes. Clerk Jenni informed the council that she has found a new company for ordinance codification. Wages for Planning and Zoning Administrator. Keith feels that the fire chief should be compensated for the work put into the firehouse and inspections for the new short term rental ordinance. Fire department needs more EMT volunteers.

Called to order- 8:04 PM
Roll Call- Mayor Schmuker, Keith Crowley, Tony Shanklin & Merle Graffam present.
Pledge of Allegiance- Led by Tony Shanklin
Approval of Minutes- Merle made a motion to approve the minutes. Seconded by Tony. All voted in favor.
Fire Department- needs volunteers and more Emergency Medical Technicians.
Justice Court- Total revenue collected $2,195. Past due collections $290. The court heard 16 cases in March.
Parks-Scott Donalson has put up the large rock sign.
Old Business- Council discussed the compensation for the Planning and Zoning Administrator. Keith feels there needs to be a job description and that compensation should be given to the Fire Chief for all the inspections he will be doing for the short term rentals.
Council conducted interviews for the open Town Council seat. Mr. Don Hardwick and Mr. Judah Schmuker submitted a letter of intent. Mr. Hardwick at the end of his interview asked to be removed from the candidate options.
Resolution 2017-3 Appointing mid term council member. Council voted in favor of Judah Schmuker. Keith motioned to appoint Judah Schmuker to the open Town Council seat. Merle seconded. Votes as follows: Mayor Schmuker, Yes. Keith Crowley, Yes. Tony Shanklin, Yes. Merle Graffam, Yes. Motion passes.
