COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the Cottonwood Heights City Council will hold a Business Meeting beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, in the Cottonwood Heights City Council Chambers located at 2277 East Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. 7:00 p.m. 1.0 WELCOME/PLEDGE 2.0 CITIZEN COMMENTS (Please note: In order to be considerate of everyone attending the meeting public comments will typically be limited to three minutes per person per item. A spokesperson who has been asked by a group to summarize their concerns will be allowed five minutes to speak. Comments which cannot be made within these limits should be submitted in writing to the City Recorder prior to noon the day of the meeting.) 3.0 PUBLIC COMMENTS 3.1 Proposed Amendments to Title 12 - Subdivisions (The city council will take public comments on the proposed amendments to Title 12-- Subdivisions.) 3.2 Proposed Resolution Encouraging Salt Lake County to Institute a .25% Local Option General Sales Tax Dedicated to Transportation as Authorized by HB 362 (The city council will take public comments on the whether to encourage Salt Lake County to institute a .25% local option general sales tax dedicated to transportation (including roads) as authorized by HB 362.) 3.3 Proposed 'Idle Free' Ordinance (The city council will take public comments on a proposed 'idle free' ordinance.) 4.0 PUBLIC HEARING 4.1 Proposed Vacation of Certain Public Right of Way (The city council will receive input on the city's proposed vacation of a parcel of public right of way containing approximately 5,837 square feet of ground that is located near the intersection of Mine Shaft Road and Prospector Drive in order to determine whether (a) good cause exists for the vacation, and (b) the public interest or any person will be materially injured by the proposed vacation. The purpose of the vacation would be to allow the city to then exchange this parcel for a near-by parcel of privately-owned ground containing approximately 12,676 square feet.) 5.0 STANDING MONTHLY REPORTS 5.1 Unified Fire Authority (UFA) Report - Assistant Chief Mike Watson (Report by Assistant Chief Watson on medical and fire calls responded by Cottonwood Heights' stations during the month of April 2018; as well as other informational items from UFA.) 6.0 ACTION ITEMS 6.1. Consideration of Ordinance 295 Vacating Certain Public Right of Way (By this ordinance the council will approve vacation of approximately 5,837 square feet of public right of way located near the intersection of Mine Shaft Road and Prospector Drive.) 6.2. Consideration of Ordinance 296 Amending Table 1 of Section 19.51.060(A), COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CODE, Concerning Residential Density in Tier 2 Projects (This ordinance will amend code Section 19.51.060(A), Table 1, to increase the maximum density in Tier 2 residential projects from 25 dwelling units/acre to 35 dwelling units/acre, as recommended by the planning commission.) 6.3. Consideration of Ordinance 297 Amending Title 8, Animals, Concerning the Keeping of 'Miniature' Goats and 'Miniature' Pigs as Pets (This ordinance will amend code Title 8, Animals, to allow the keeping of 'miniature' goats and 'miniature' pigs as household pets under certain circumstances.) 6.4. Consideration of Resolution 2018-30 Declaring Certain Property Surplus and Approving Entry into an Exchange Agreement Concerning Such Property (By this resolution the council will declare surplus approximately 5,837 square feet of real property located near the intersection of Mine Shaft Road and Prospector Drive, and will authorize the city's entry into an Exchange Agreement with Land Holdco, LLC to exchange the city's 5,837 square foot parcel for a nearby 12,676 square foot parcel owned by Land Holdco.) 7.0 CONSENT CALENDAR 7.1 Approval of the City Council Work Session Minutes of April 10, 17, 24 and May 1, 8, 15 of 2018. 8.0 ADJOURN BUSINESS MEETING AND RECONVENE WORK SESSION NOTICE OF COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the Cottonwood Heights City Council will hold a Work Session at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, in the Cottonwood Heights City Council Work Room located at 2277 East Bengal Boulevard, Cottonwood Heights, Utah WORK SESSION 5:00 pm 1. Review of Business Meeting Agenda (Mayor Peterson will review the upcoming business meeting agenda with the city council.) 2. Public Relations Report - Dan Metcalf (Public Relations Specialist Dan Metcalf will provide Cottonwood Heights media reports with staff follow-up, where needed.) 3. City Council and Staff Reports (Each week city council and staff provide informational reports from attended meetings and each department to allow for a method of keeping up on the day-to-day activities of the City. This report is available on the internet at www.ch.utah.gov. This agenda item is set aside to allow council members to ask questions or for staff to bring the council up to date of any changes since the report was made.) 5:45 p.m. 4. Suite-One Presentation - Mr. Steve Schmenk w/ JCG Technologies (Mr. Schmenk will briefly present his public meetings broadcasting and agenda product, and answer any questions from the city council.) 5. Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget Discussion (The city council will discuss the proposed budget for 2018-2019 fiscal year.) (+/-) 8:00 p.m. 6.
