NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES RE: RE-EVALUATION OF LOCATION FOR FUTURE DRAPER/BLUFFDALE FRONTRUNNER COMMUTER RAIL STATION SITE I. The Utah Transit Authority (UTA) invites the public to provide comment on a Re-Evaluation of the proposed location for the future Draper/Bluffdale FrontRunner commuter rail station site (Re-Evaluation). In the FrontRunner South Environmental Study Report, the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) identified the need and proposed a location for a future FrontRunner station site within the limits of Draper City and Bluffdale City. As part of a Re-Evaluation, UTA has identified four possible station locations and the benefits and environmental impacts for each location. UTA wants to receive public comment on the initial findings of the Re-Evaluation prior to selecting the station site. II. Two public hearings will be held: • Monday, 11/17/2008 at the Bluffdale Elementary School, located at 14323 South 2700 West, Bluffdale City, Utah, 84065. The hearing will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. • Tuesday, 11/17/2008 at the Willow Springs Elementary School, located at 13288 South Lone Rock Drive (465 East), Draper City, Utah 84020. The hearing will begin at 5 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. At the hearings, the Utah Transit Authority will afford an opportunity for the public to ask questions and obtain further information about the findings of the Re-Evaluation; and allow any interested person to comment on the issue to UTA Staff. After considering the comments, UTA will select the location of the future Draper/Bluffdale FrontRunner commuter rail station site. III. THE FORMAT FOR THE PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: a. Presentation on the findings of Re-Evaluation from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. b. Open House to review and discuss proposal with UTA representatives (after the presentation) c. Public comment period (available any time during public hearing) IV. To assure full participation at this hearing, accommodations for effective communication, such as sign language interpreters or printed materials in alternate formats, must be requested at least five (5) working days prior to the date of the scheduled event. Direct requests for accommodations to the Utah Transit Authority, ADA Compliance Officer at (801) 287-3536 or for deaf/hearing impaired persons, dial 711 to make a relay call. To request a language interpreter, please call Celeste Burningham at 801-287-2369. V. Comments can also be submitted online at www.rideuta.com. All comments will become part of the public record if received or postmarked by November 21, 2008.
