NOTICE OF MEETING Notice is hereby given that the Salt Lake City Civil Service Commission will hold a meeting at 4:00pm on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 451 South State Street, Room 118, Salt Lake City Utah. AGENDA 1. Approve the minutes from January 18, 2017 meeting. 2. Open Meeting training conducted by Margaret Plane. 3. Request to approve the NEW Quality Assurance Manager Process. 4. Police personnel changes for December 2017 - February 2018. 5. Request for the Police Department to utilize rule 4-2-12 - Duration of Promotional Eligibility Registers to allow a new Police Captain exam be given. 6. Request to approve the Police Captain Promotional Process. 7. Fire Department Personnel Changes 8. Discussion relating to proposed change to CSC Rule 2-5-3 Removal from Eligibility Register 9. Determination of Pre-Conference and Appeal Hearing dates for terminated Police Detective Jeff Payne and demoted Police Lieutenant James Tracy. 10. Present draft 2017 Civil Service Annual Report for Commission review 11. Status of Applicant T. Mecham's Petition to the Commission 12. Review of Petition Process and Responsibilities The Civil Service Commission will consider a motion to enter into Closed Session. A closed meeting described under Utah Code § 52-4-205 may be held for specific purposes including, but not limited to: a. discussion of the character, professional competence, or physical or mental health of an individual; c. strategy sessions to discuss pending or reasonably imminent litigation; f. discussion regarding deployment of security personnel, devices, or systems; and g. Investigative proceedings regarding allegations of criminal misconduct. A closed meeting may also be held for attorney-client matters that are privileged pursuant to Utah Code § 78B-1-137, and for other lawful purposes that satisfy the pertinent requirements of the Utah Open and Public Meetings Act.
