AGENDA FOR THE SALT LAKE CITY HOUSING ADVISORY AND APPEALS BOARD MEETING In Room 118 of the City & County Building at 451 South State Street Wednesday January 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. ______________________________________________________________________________ Board members will meet at the steps of the City & County Building on the east side. The field trip will leave at 11:00 am to observe the properties located at: 202 South 800 East (11:00 am - 11:15 am) for appeal of housing code violations 303 East 600 South (11:15 am - 11:30 am) for appeal of housing code violations 1774 South 500 East (11:30 am - 12:00 pm) for appeal of housing code violations 1172 East 1700 South (12:00 pm - 12:15 pm) demolition request Lunch will be served to HAAB Board Members and Staff at 12:30 pm, in Room 118 following the field trip. These portions of the meeting are open to the public for observation. 1:00 pm POLICY MEETING: A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: 1. HAAB will approve minutes from its meeting held Wednesday July 12, 2017. B. CONSIDERATION OF PROPOSED DEMOLITION AND HOUSING MITIGATION PLAN: 1. Request for Demolition and Consideration of Housing Mitigation at 1172 East 1700 South (Case No. HAZ2017-03634; Westminster College) City Council District 5 - Erin Mendenhall C. APPEAL HEARING: 1. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 303 East 600 South (Case No. HAZ2017-02063; Represented by Vicki Fields) Council District 4 - Derek Kitchen A. Appeal deficient emergency egress opening size in bedrooms of units #7, #8 and #10. 2. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 1774 South 500 East (Case No. HAZ2017-03215; Bert Ankrom) Council District 5 - Erin Mendenhall A. Appeal deficient emergency egress opening size in window of rear bedroom on main floor. B. Appealed deficient headroom height of interior stairway leading to basement apartment. 3. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 202 South 800 East (Case No. HAZ2017-03753; Represented by Jerry Papez) Council District 4 - Derek Kitchen A. Appeal deficient minimum winder stairway width accessing apartment three (3). B. Appealed deficient headroom height of the same interior winder stairway. C. Appeal deficient (missing) landing at stairway. D. Appeal deficient variation in stairway risers. D. OTHER BUSINESS: 1. Open Meetings Act Training (Katherine Lewis; City Attorney's Office) 2. Nominations for HAAB Chair and Vice Chair. E. ADJOURN
