1. Welcome:
2. Review and approval of the minutes from the meeting held on September, 5, 2017, and April 25, 2017.
3. Adam Trupp requested the county fund assessments spreadsheets (for years 2013-2018) and how the amount is decided that counties pay into the fund. Also, the expenditures from the fund over the same time period (2013-2018), and total payments on each case per year, so that he can understand the long term costs of these cases.
4. Assignments from the September 5, 2017 meeting.
1. John will continue to work with State Purchasing about complying with Purchasing policy for Indigent Defense Attorneys.
2. Barbara will contact attorneys on cases where billings have been slow, and ask for an update.
5. Case Appointment. Process to decide if attorneys are qualified to handle cases, if attorneys have sufficient time to dedicate to Aggravated Homicide, and if the representative of the judiciary is the best person to select attorneys to present to the judge.
6. Rule 8 Qualification. What is done to make sure attorneys remain rule 8 qualified, and if we have an annual re-certification.
7. Discussion on distribution of cases from the CUCF.
8. Discuss Mitigation Reports. How oversite or limitations on numbers that an investigator/mitigation specialists can effectively handle.
