Description/Agenda: As required by state law, Our Schools Now will hold seven hearings throughout the state of Utah to receive public comment on the proposed citizens' initiative petition. The meetings have been scheduled for Thursday, July 20 at 6:00 PM at each of the following locations: - Discovery Elementary - 820 North 500 West, Brigham City UT 84302 - Santa Clara Elementary - 2950 West Crestview Drive, Santa Clara UT 84765 - Trailside Elementary - 5700 Trailside Drive, Park City UT 84098 - Fillmore Elementary - 558 West 400 South, Fillmore UT 84631 - Grand County School District Office - 264 South 400 East, Moab UT 84532 - Centennial Elementary - 940 South 500 East, Roosevelt UT 84066 - Lomond View Elementary - 3644 North 900 West, Pleasant View UT 84414 This initiative petition seeks to increase the current income tax rate by .5 percent, resulting in a 10 percent increase in the current tax rate. This initiative petition seeks to increase the current sales tax rate by .5 percent, resulting in a 10.6 percent increase in the current tax rate.
