AGENDA FOR THE SALT LAKE CITY HOUSING ADVISORY AND APPEALS BOARD MEETING In Room 126 of the City & County Building at 451 South State Street Wednesday October 12, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. ______________________________________________________________________________ The field trip will leave at 10:30 am to observe the properties located at: 623 East 100 South (10:30 am - 10:50 am) for appeal of housing code violations 1018 East 800 South (10:50 am - 11:10 am) for appeal of housing code violations 1381 South Lincoln Street (11:10 am - 11:30 am) for appeal of housing code violations 1158 East Westminster Avenue (11:30 am - 11:50 am) for appeal of housing code violations 1964 South 900 East (11:50 am - 12:10 pm) for appeal of housing code violations Lunch will be served to HAAB Board Members and Staff at 12:30 pm, in Room 126 following the field trip. These portions of the meeting are open to the public for observation. 1:00 pm POLICY MEETING: A. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: 1. HAAB will approve minutes from its meeting held Wednesday June 8, 2016. B. APPEAL HEARING: 1. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 1018 East 800 South (Case No. HAZ2016-01837; Laurie Roberts) Council District 4 - Derek Kitchen A. Appealed deficient variation between the stair riser at the top step and the bottom step of the stairway for the main entry that exceeds the allowable 2'. 2. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 1158 East Westminster Avenue (Case No. HAZ2015-00333; Ken Ho) Council District 7 - Lisa Adams A. Appealed deficient emergency egress opening size in bedroom of unit #1158. B. Appealed deficient emergency egress opening size in bedroom of unit #1158 B. 3. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 1381 South Lincoln Street (Case No. HAZ2016-02264; Christine Richards) Council District 5 - Erin Mendenhall A. Appealed deficient emergency egress opening size in bedroom of unit #1385. B. Appealed deficient window sill height of unit #1385. C. Appealed deficient emergency egress opening size in bedroom of unit #1387. D. Appealed deficient window sill height of unit #1387. 4. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 623 East 100 South (Case No. HAZ2016-01395; Lee Sorenson) Council District 4 - Derek Kitchen A. Appealed deficient stair width of thirty inches (30'). B. Stair treads for the winder stairs are less than six inches (6') along the inside edge. 5. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 1964 South 900 East (Case No. HAZE2016-01838; Elaine Thornton) Council District 5 - Erin Mendenhall A. Appealed deficient emergency egress opening size in bedrooms for rear building. B. Appealed insufficient headroom (less than 6'4') in the stairway of unit #17. C. Appealed deficient emergency egress opening size in bedroom of unit #17. C. Consent Agenda 1. Consideration of Residential Housing Code Violations at: 949 East Laird Avenue (Case No. HAZE2016-01836; Boris Kurz) Council District 5 - Erin Mendenhall A. Appealed deficient headroom projection of less than 6'4' in path of circulation. B. Appealed deficient emergency egress opening size in bedrooms. D. OTHER BUSINESS: E. ADJOURN
