Meet at 4pm on 3rd Thursdays monthly at the Museum.
1st book Walden by Henry David Thoreau, an author esteemed by many artists whose work was inspired by the West. April 21st, St. Patrick's Day, is our 1st meeting. It is free and open to all. Professor Sue Elna Bennett of Dixie State University will be present to facilitate the group. We will focus for the rest of this on literature of the land.
NEW - National Park Game Night at the Museum
1st Monday night of each month from 6 to 8pm in the Museum where we will have NP games (Yahtzee, Memory, Trekker, Monopoly, & another set up). We will have helpers & are thinking that signups would be good but not mandatory with regular admission fee. April 4th, May 2nd, June 6th - will be closed for exhibit change, July 4th is well the 4th, so no, August 1st, September 5th is Labor Day, October 3rd, November 7th, December 5th. 3rd weeks are already pretty full for the Museum (board meeting, art conversation, Friday's Art on Main). Would 2nd Mondays or 4th Mondays be better?
The St. George Art Festival will be held on March 25th & 26th when Kent Perkins, Leisure Services Director, & I choose pieces from his special budget for the Permanent Collection. My goal is to focus on national park art, but we do a give & take, but we will have new pieces by the next board meeting.
