As we received $3,000 from the RAP tax $, we are going to place another full page national ad for Call for Entries & for the exhibits. This $5,000 juried show purchase prize winner is Richard Biddinger's Peaceful and Forever of the Grand Canyon. I am hoping we can also purchase other pieces in this show both of Erin Hanson's and from the other juried artists. A number have sold from both shows. St. George Art Museum Book Club to engage new & ongoing interest & support on a different level of the humanities. Books will be chosen that accompany, enlighten current exhibits. Meet at 4pm on 3rd Thursdays monthly at the Museum. 1st book Walden by Henry David Thoreau, an author esteemed by many artists whose work was inspired by the West. March 17, St. Patrick's Day, is our 1st meeting. It is free and open to all. Professor Sue Elna Bennett of Dixie State University will be present to facilitate the group. The St. George Art Festival will be held on March 25th & 26th when Kent Perkins, Leisure Services Director, & I choose pieces from his special budget for the Permanent Collection. 2017 20th Birthday Celebration OTHER: DIRECTOR'S REPORT MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the St. George Art Museum is to educate all visitors through quality exhibitions from all periods, cultures, and media, as well as to collect, conserve, inventory, exhibit and interpret art and artifacts from Utah and the West.
