WEST VALLEY CITY CLEAN & BEAUTIFUL COMMITTEE Misty Smith, Chairperson The regularly scheduled West Valley City Clean and Beautiful Committee meeting will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 5:30 P.M., in the West Valley City Hall, Public Relations & Neighborhood Services Office, Suite 230, West Valley City Hall, 3600 S Constitution Boulevard, West Valley City, Utah. Grizzlies' tickets, Crown Burger, Real Monarchs tickets, any local West Valley City businesses 4. Service Projects a. WestFest, Centennial Park, 5415 West 3100 South: Members needed various times and dates: Thursday, 06.18.15 from 4:30 - 10:00 P.M. Friday, 06.19.15 from 4:30 - 10:00 P.M., and Saturday, 06.20.15 from 10:00 A.M. through 10:00 P.M. i. Daylilies - City flower, given away by Committee, 200 each evening and remaining flowers on Saturday, big draw for WestFest ii. Represent Committee - Wear Green and White Shirts and Name Badges 1. Sign up for as many shifts as possible, fun activity b. Park Crawl, Saturday, June 27, 2015, 9:00 A.M. - Noon i. Plant donated flowers in Park marquee flowerbed; don't disturb plants in place form Parks Department ii. Park suggestions: Peachwood Park, 3510 W 3965 S; Maple Meadows Park 2520 S 3380 W; West View Park, 4100 S 6000 W - Smith's at 5620 W 4100 S, expressed interest in community involvement, invited them to work at that park; City Park, 3350 S 4400 W; Kings Pointe Park, 1330 W Rothchild Dr (3665 S); Falcon Crest Park, 4055 S 7060 W (marquee sign?); Wheatland Park, 4266 S 3680 W; Parkway Park, 3400 W Parkway Blvd (2700 S) c. Triangle at CPB, fill with decorative rock i. Cost estimate of rock 1. Arrow Rock & Stone, West Jordan, UT, offered 10% discount and free delivery to volunteer committee, can only deliver 16 tons at a time i. Best option: 1' Rock need 30 tons, ii. Will take two days or move to complete project iii. Cost $875.00, other purchases for project: plywood, weed barrier 2. Touch base with Jason Erekson, Park Department support, a. Kill existing plants 3. Set Dates - two dates 4. d. Budget allotment, approximately $1,700.00 remaining i. Purchase weed barrier ii. Purchase plywood for CPB project iii. Purchase banners at $60.00 a piece iv. Purchase door prizes, if funds available 5. Contact Property Owner - 4100 S 4100 W 6. 3100 S Bangerter Hwy (American Prep and UDOT) a. Suggested Table this project for future, have okay from UDOT, need to contact American Prep Academy 7. NNO - National Night Out against Crime a. Save the Date: Monday, August 31, 2015, 5:30 - 8:00 P.M. at UCCC, represent Committee, wear Green and White Shirts and Name Badges, shift times to be determined 8. Community Outreach Tools a. Yard Clippings - August, David McEwen; volunteers for articles needed for September, October, November and January 9. Street Banners a. Have call into Erik Brondum, Traffic Engineer regarding status of his staff and cost for to hang banners 10. Other Business a. Communication Item i. Designated alternate voter b.
