NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING UTAH TRANSIT AUTHORITY RE: Proposed April 2014 Service Changes, Davis County UTA is proposing new bus service from the Clearfield Commuter Rail Station to Hill Air Force Base, via Routes 664 and 665. A public hearing and an open house will be held to discuss the proposed route additions. Davis County Meeting Locations Public Hearing When: Tuesday, Feb.18, 2014, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Where: Clearfield City Community Art Center, Multi-Purpose Room. 140 E. Center St., Clearfield, Utah 84015 Open House (open to those with access to the base only, no public access) When: Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon Where: Hill AFB Theater, Bldg. 441, 7413 6th St., Hill Air Force Base, Utah 84056 At the meetings, the Utah Transit Authority will provide an opportunity for citizens, private transportation providers, public officials and interested agencies to comment on the proposed changes. To be included as part of the Public Hearing record, all comments must be postmarked or received by UTA no later than February 28, 2014. THE FORMAT FOR THE PUBLIC MEETINGS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS: The meetings will be held under an Open House format to review and discuss the proposal with UTA representatives. Individuals can ask specific one-on-one type questions with UTA staff members before turning in their public comment. To assure full participation at the hearing, accommodations for effective communication such as sign language interpreters, printed materials in alternative formats, or a language interpreter for non-English speaking participants, must be requested at least five (5) working days prior to the date of the scheduled event. Requests for ADA accommodations should be directed to the UTA ADA Compliance Officer at 801-287-3536 or dial 711 to make a relay call for deaf or hearing impaired persons. To request a language interpreter, please contact the TITLE VI Compliance Officer at 801-741-8871. Written comments or email comments may be submitted to the following addresses: Hearing Officer, Utah Transit Authority, 669 West 200 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84101 or email directly to hearingofficer@rideuta.com. Phone calls and questions about the proposal should be directed to the Mt. Ogden Business Unit at 801-510-1484. All comments will become part of the public record if received by 5 p.m., Feb. 28, 2014. PROPOSALS ARE AS FOLLOWS: UTA is proposing new bus service, beginning at the Clearfield FrontRunner Station to Hill Air Force Base on April Change Day, with service beginning on Monday, April 14, 2014. This plan accommodates those riding FrontRunner from North or South of Hill AFB, as well as those who choose to park and ride at the Clearfield Station. The proposed plan has two buses meeting each train; Route 644 will enter the West Gate and service the West area, while Route 665 will enter the South Gate and service the East area. The proposed plan is peak service only. UTA recommends operating the service from approximately 5:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. During 2014, Federal Employees are eligible to receive up to $130.00 per month to pay for travel between their residence and place of employment. Federal employees committed to using mass transportation or vanpools are encouraged to apply for the TRANServe Debit Card. The TRANServe Debit Card is a Visa-branded card that enables Federal Employees to use their benefit to pay for mass transportation or vanpool electronically. UTA plans to provide information on the Federal Transit Benefit Program during the scheduled Public Hearings. Informational items: Relevant information about the proposed changes will be available at the Public Hearing or may be reviewed at UTA’s Mt. Ogden Business Unit at 135 W. 17th St., Ogden, Utah 84404, until 5 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2014.
