ROUTE 89 YARD SALE - LANCE SEITZ Lance Seitz was present to explain the Route 89 yard sale scheduled for May 16, 17, and 18, 2014 extending from Big Water to Junction. Lance Seitz is asking the participating cities to help promote the yard sale along this 160 mile route. There is a potential for the City to make money from this event by renting tables or space for vendors and townspeople to set up their wares. Lance Seitz will advertise this yard sale extensively along the West Coast in newspapers, by radio, T.V. and Internet. Lance Seitz expects that this event could grow to 5,000 or more people, so it can be good exposure for our area. Lance Seitz’s goal is to help boost the local economy. Randy Yard commented that there is nothing to lose and everything to gain. The Main Street committee has a yard sale annually on Memorial Day weekend, and the Council does not want to encroach on their yard sale. Tim Smith moved seconded by Nick Reynolds to have City Manager Lori Talbot present the Route 89 Yard Sale proposal to the Main Street Committee to see how they want to handle the yard sales and to inform them that the City Council approves of the Route 89 Yard Sale.
