TRAIL MIX COMMITTEE AGENDA - Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 Noon- until we are done… (hopefully under 2 hours) at the Grand Center 1. Approval of minutes from Jan 2011: Ruth Dillon/Sandy Freethey 2. Moab Trails Alliance big donation – Kim Schappert (Thank you!!!) 3. Report on Grass Roots Events & La Sportiva donation - Chris Martinez 4. Report on “Juicy Trails maps” requests of our web site: Sandy 5. Need Bike Trail Maps & Info? Go to discovermoab.com/ & click on Mt. biking. Thanks to Robert Rivera at Travel Council and Geoff Freethey for the great site! 6. Moab Happenings article: Fischer Towers – Thank you Dave Erley 7. Employee Changes: Brian Lugers added, Jeff Fink no longer on payroll, (still volunteering). 8. County/City updates: (Paved path projects, and Martin Foy area trail.) Krissie Braun Chris Baird, Kim Schappert, David Olsen. ($2.5 Million grant approved! Path ext. Hwy 128) 9. National Park Service updates: Doug Buttery 10. Forest Service updates: Brian Murdock or Max Forgensi Ski Report: Kirstin Peterson 11. Action item: Request to increase snow grooming funds from $500 to $750/yr. 12. BLM updates: Russ Von Koch and Katie Stevens • Klonzo Trail System update – archeo/paleo review late Feb. • Challenge cost share dollars available (need to match) - Russ 13. New Trail Proposals and Presentations - Action item on proposals: • Moab Brands additions: Jeff Van Horn (Killer B), Geoff Freethey (Sidewinder) • Navajo Rocks Trail System presentation: David Olsen 14. Trail Reports: • Hiking Trail scouting next month when Gerrish returns. • Equestrian updates: Dick Walter • Mill Creek Partnership report: Sara Melnicoff • Dino Trail/ North Klondike first segment open! (from Mega Steps to Baby Steps North.) Trail building continues ….. on to Little Salty come volunteer: Sandy & Geoff • Volunteer opportunities: Thanks to Lisa Boose, Liz Lightner & Tom Dillon • Trail maintenance on Bar B, Lazy, Killer B, North 40 • Prospector Trail update: David 15. Action Item Budget Amendment: Amendment needed to reflect new income, new trails, trailer insurance and ski grooming cost changes: Geoff 17. Future considerations: *Items to be considered for placement on the Trail Mix agenda must be received on the Wednesday prior to the Trail Mix meeting, held on the second Tuesday of each month.
