- NOTICE AND AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the Garland City Council will hold its regular City Council meeting on the 28th day of August 2012 at the Garland City Civic Center. Such meeting shall begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. The Mayor reserves the right to modify the sequence of agenda items in order to facilitate special needs. The agenda shall be as follows: 1. Call to order – Mayor Bennett 2. Invocation 3. Pledge of Allegiance 4. Vote to approve agenda 5. Requests for Future Agenda Items (Open Comments) 6. Introduction and adoption of Ordinances and Resolutions a. Ordinance, O-12-05, Amending Title 4 Chapter 1, Fire Department 7. New Business a. Approve new Fire Fighters 8. Old Business a. Sofa’s Bar – opening on Sundays for Football Season 9. Report of Officers, Boards & Committees a. Mayor Bennett b. Council Member Coleman – Water & Sewer c. Council Member Hughes – Public Safety/Wheat & Beet Days d. Council Member Miller – Planning & Zoning/Streets e. Council Member Shaw – Park/Mosquito Abatement/Facilities f. Council Member Thompson – Library/Wheat & Beet Days/ Youth Council 8. Discussion/Approval of payroll, accounts payable and billing adjustments 9.
