PUBLIC NOTICE The Board of Education of Jordan School District will hold a Budget Hearing for the purpose of approving the 2013-14 proposed budget and amending the 2012-13 budget on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. The budget document is available for public inspection in the office of the Business Administrator and on the District website: http://tinyurl.com/budget13-14 The Board of Education of Jordan School District will meet in potential closed, study and regular sessions on June 11, 2013 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Auxiliary Services Building (Board Conference Room) 7905 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. Patron Comments Patron comments shall be taken regarding the 2013-14 budget in accordance with Board policy GP 110 Public Participation at Board Meetings. C. Board Member Comments D. Action by Board of Education on Budget Adoption 1. Adopt the 2012-13 Final Amended Budget 2. Adopt the 2013-14 Proposed Budget 3. Authorize Any Budget Adjustments Necessary to Reflect Funds Received from the Certified Tax Rate REGULAR SESSION – OPEN MEETING Immediately following the Budget Hearing Pledge of Allegiance Mr. Scott Thomas, Administrator of Auxiliary Services Reverence Dr. Anthony Godfrey, Administrator of Schools Recognitions Ms. Michelle Lindsey, Utah History Teacher of the Year Presented by Pam Su’a, Social Studies Consultant School Recognitions Comments by Elected Officials Patron Comments The Board will take public comment on items not listed on the agenda. In accordance with policy GP 110 Public Participation at Board Meetings, no more than 45 minutes will be allocated to patron comments in a Board meeting. Speakers will be given a maximum of three minutes to address the Board. The public should be aware that the Board is unable, by law, to deliberate or take action on items raised during the Patron Comment period. In those situations where large groups of people desire to address the Board on the same subject, the President may request that those groups select only one or two speakers from the group to address the Board on behalf of the group and shall be allocated up to six minutes to speak. The Board will not take public comment on personnel issues or statements regarding the character, professional competence, and the physical or mental health of an individual during Board meetings. I. Accounting, Budgets & Audits - Auditing Services Discussion and possible action to approve bid to provide auditing services beginning fiscal year 2013-14 for the Accounting, Budgets & Audits Department. Total amount of recommended bid: $52,250 with a 4% escalating increase each year of contract. B. Nutrition Services – Assorted Food Items Discussion and possible action to approve bid for assorted food items for Nutrition Services. Total amount of recommended bid: $680,525.54. C. Copper Mountain Middle School – Computers, Memory and Printers Discussion and possible action to approve bid for new computers for the new Copper Mountain Middle Schools. Total amount of recommended bid: $413,904.42 (State Contracts MA258, MA256, MA257, and MA432). D. Information Systems – Elementary Computer Labs Discussion and possible action to approve bid for computer labs for nine elementary schools. Total amount of recommended bid: $394,445.49 (State Contract MA1813). E. Transportation Services – Bus Wash and Site Remodel Discussion and possible action to approve bid for a bus wash and remodel for Transportation Services. Total amount of recommended bid: $587,000.00.
