TOWN OF AMALGA, UTAH NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING AND PUBLIC MEETING Notice is hereby given that the Amalga Town Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the following proposed matters: 1. Proposed Ordinance No. 2026-10 - Automotive Service Stations and Truck Stops sections 7.4.1 and 3.31 The Amalga TOWN Land Management and Development Code The proposed ordinance would amend the Town of Amalga Land Use Management and Development Code to identify automotive service stations, including truck stops and travel centers, as a permitted use in the Light Industrial (LI) Zone and establish standards governing their location, site layout, design, construction, and operation. The proposed standards address traffic circulation, truck parking, overnight parking restrictions, diesel truck idling, noise, lighting, fuel storage and dispensing, fire safety, spill containment, environmental protection, accessory uses, and other operational requirements. The ordinance is intended to promote public safety, protect neighboring properties and agricultural lands, and mitigate adverse impacts associated with these uses. 2. Proposed Amendment Regarding Appeal Hearing Fees sections 1.15 The Amalga TOWN Land Management and Development Code The Planning Commission will also consider a proposed amendment to establish responsibility for fees and costs associated with an appeal hearing, including whether the party determined to be at fault or responsible for the matter giving rise to the appeal should be required to pay the fees associated with the appeal hearing. The proposed amendment and its potential application will be discussed during the public hearing. Public Hearing Details Date: November 4, 2026 Time: 6 p.m. Location: 6590 N 2400 W The public is invited to attend the hearing and provide comments on either or both proposed matters for the Planning Commission to consider. Following the hearing, the Planning Commission may make recommendations to the Amalga Town Council, as applicable. Copies of the proposed ordinance and proposed appeal hearing fee amendment are available for public review at AmalgaUtah.gov. For additional information, please contact the Town Clerk.
