Blanding City is required to hold a public meeting (Between Sept 19 and Oct 30, 2026) to present the ballot proposition and hear public feedback, even without official opposition. It must begin at or after 6:00 p.m., and you must allow any interested residents to present oral testimony.
Meeting will take place prior to city council at 6:50pm at the city office.
The question to the people will be placed on the Ballot as follows
City of Blanding Proposal #1 A PROPOSAL TO PROVIDE CONTINUED PUBLIC FUNDING FOR PARKS AND RECREATIONAL FACILITIES.
Should there be reauthorized and continued a local sales tax of one-tenth of one percent (0.1%) to fund publicly owned or operated recreational facilities such as parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, swimming pools, trail systems, or other facilities used for recreational purposes?
Should the City continue this tax? [ ] Yes [ ] No
