PUBLIC NOTICE Of A Vacancy on the Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake and Sandy Board of Trustees Per Utah Code Annotated 17B-1-304 The Sandy City Council announces a vacancy on the board. Persons interested in applying for consideration must be a resident of a) the Metropolitan Water district; and b) the retail water service area of the municipality that the member is appointed to represent, c) a registered voter, and d) a property taxpayer. All employees and all elected and appointed officials of Sandy City are ineligible. The Sandy City Council will consider applicants of the highest integrity, attainment, competence, and standing in the community. Applicants should have successful experience working with or managing significant business operations related to drinking water utilities of similar size and scope of Metro Water, including management, finance, planning, legal, engineering, water quality and water treatment. Qualified applicants should submit a letter of interest, with vita/resume indicating compliance with above criteria via email to: Justin Sorenson, Assistant Director, Sandy City Council Office, jsorenson@sandy.utah.gov no later than Friday, October 30, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Please call Mr. Sorenson at (801) 568-7107 with questions about the appointment. The City Council is tentatively scheduled to interview qualified applicants at a public meeting on Tuesday, November 17, 2026, at approximately 5:15 PM, in person at 10000 S. Centennial Parkway, Ste 221 and via Zoom Webinar as described on the November 17, 2026, City Council agenda. The City Council will select an applicant for appointment in accordance with Utah Code.
