- NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR PROPOSED EMERGENCY SERVICES SALES AND USE TAX The City of St. George will hold a public hearing concerning its intent to consider adoption of an Emergency Services Sales and Use Tax pursuant to Utah Code ยง 59-12-2402. The emergency services sales and use tax is to provide funding for emergency services, including emergency medical services and fire protection, personnel, equipment, apparatus, facilities, and related operational costs, as authorized by Utah law. The proposed emergency services sales and use tax would be imposed at a rate of 0.33 percent and would apply to taxable sales and uses occurring within the municipal boundaries of the City of St. George, Utah. The public hearing will be held on October 1, 2026, during the City Council meeting starting at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at the City of St. George City Hall located at 61 South Main Street, St. George, Utah. The purpose of the public hearing will be to obtain input from the public regarding the intent to consider adoption of an Emergency Services Sales and Use Tax.
