Notice is hereby given that the American Fork City Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on September 16, 2026, in the City Hall, located at 31 N. Church Street, commencing at 6:30 PM.
The public and each affected entity is invited to provide information and comment for American Fork City to consider in the process of the proposed items.
- Notice of public hearings and public meetings on adoption or modification of land use regulation.
o Public hearing, review, and recommendation on a proposed Code Text Amendment, known as 'A' Definitions of the American Fork City Municipal Code. Amending Section 17.12.201, the Code Text Amendment provides definitions for accessory buildings, accessory dwellings, and accessory structures.
Description: Staff has initiated a Code Text Amendment to provide definitions for accessory buildings, accessory dwellings, and accessory structures to eliminate any ambiguity in identifying what each item is.
o Public hearing, review, and recommendation on a proposed Code Text Amendment, known as 'D' Definitions of the American Fork City Municipal Code. Amending Section 17.12.204, the Code Text Amendment provides a definition for detached accessory dwelling units.
Description Staff has initiated a Code Text Amendment to provide a definition for detached accessory dwelling units to prevent any ambiguity in identifying the what the item is in preparation for allowing detached accessory dwelling units in accordance with Utah State Code.
o Public hearing, review, and recommendation on a proposed Code Text Amendment, known as Detached Accessory Dwelling Units, of the American Fork City Municipal Code. Creating Section 17.5.136, the Code Text Amendment plans to provide regulations for Detached Accessory Dwelling Units within the City.
Description: Staff has initiated a Code Text Amendment to provide regulations for detached accessory dwelling units in accordance with the recent change of Utah State Code.
